A panorama of attendees browse the exhibits Thanks to everyone who participated in the 2006 Institute for Molecular Virology Symposium! Excellent speakers and an enjoyable and informative poster session made for a great event. Click here for an image gallery.

The 2006 Symposium's theme was "Viral Host Exploitation and Escape", and this year's event covered a wide range of virus research that supports this theme. Keynote speakers were Dr. John Coffin (Tufts) and Dr. Lynn Enquist (Princeton).

The Symposium began at 8:00am on May 9 with Dr. Coffin's morning keynote speech, "HIV-host interaction: New insights from new tools". There was a lunchtime poster session in the theater atrium. Dr. Enquist's keynote speech at 3pm, "Infection and spread of an alphaherpevirus in neurons", completed the oral presentations. The symposium concluded with a combined reception and poster session from 4pm to 6pm.
